Some possible discussion points for chapter meetings this year.
Base umpire in C, ground ball to the infield where the throw possibly takes the first baseman off the bag. Make the out/safe call and then ask for help. Ask for help before making the call, or don't ask at all unless you catch some grief.
Play at the plate, the runner misses the plate, the catcher misses the tag. Does the umpire make a call?
Infield fly - is there a point where the plate umpire makes the call first, or the base umpire takes the lead?
Bounding ball hits ground before reaching first base and then bounces over the bag, or just misses bounces over the bag - who makes the fair/foul call? (Assuming base umpire is in A.)
Checked swing. Go to your partner for help even though he's in C, or don't go?
Low pitch which may or may not have been caught by the catcher. Does the base umpire initiate some sort of signal to help out his partner, or does he wait to be asked?
Same idea, only this time the ball is hit and bounces off the batter's leg and into fair territory. Wait to be asked or initiate a foul call immediately?
Should the base umpire carry an indicator?

Here are some actual happenings from around the state. Enjoy.
#1 There are two games going on simultaneously at adjoining fields. As the left fielder is camped under a fly ball waiting to make the catch, a foul ball from the other field enters this field and the left fielder ducks away from catching the fly ball, and the ball drops. Now what? To find out!....click here
