SYRACUSE CHAPTER of the NYSBUA

Q - What is the Syracuse Chapter of the New York State Baseball Umpires Association? A - This is the baseball umpire’s group that works all scholastic games in Onondaga County and the surrounding area - from Oswego to Cortland and from Cazenovia to Auburn! We also umpire most of the summer baseball, ages 13 and older. Q - How much is the pay? A - Varsity games pay in the $70’s and sub varsity games almost $50 ! Q - What training will I receive? A - You don’t need any prior training! We have a dedicated group of fellow umpires that will provide training. All you need is the interest and commitment. We’ve had a whole range of ages; from high school seniors to senior citizens! Q - When does training start? A - First meetings are in January. Local indoor facilities are used to start the training. Games start in the spring! Q - Who should I contact for more information and to get started? A - Our membership chairman is Don Logana.
